Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help us reduce import duties or tariff exposure by producing in the U.S.?
Yes. By manufacturing your products here in the United States, you avoid international shipping delays, tariffs, and customs barriers. We are working with international partners to move their production to our facility, specifically to protect their U.S. market share and improve delivery times.
What about pricing and long-term contracts?
We provide competitive, stable pricing based on volume, run frequency, and raw material requirements. For long-term partners, we offer fixed-pricing agreements and dedicated production scheduling to protect against market volatility and ensure reliable supply.
Can Rand Wood deliver the lumber products I need to my part of the country?
Yes! We can ship to any state in the country. We have excellent freight partners that include trucking and rail and can handle all the delivery details for you.
How quickly can I get the material I need?
We keep most of the products our customers need in inventory with quick turnaround times for specialty products. Contact our team and they can provide you an exact timeframe.
Can Rand Wood sell less than truckload quantities?
Yes. We save customers the most money by shipping full truckloads, but we also provide smaller quantities as well.
Can Rand Wood provide us with better quality material?
Yes! We pride ourselves in producing high quality products that meet our customer’s expectation. With over 60 years of manufacturing experience, we have the inhouse expertise needed to meet your specifications with precision and care.
Can your mill produce our exact profile and specifications?
Yes. Our mill is equipped with industrial moulders, planers, and knife-grinding machinery capable of reproducing precise custom profiles. If you provide technical drawings, CAD files, or physical samples, our machinists will match them exactly and can produce consistent runs at scale.
What is your production capacity and lead time?
We operate high-capacity manufacturing lines and can schedule continuous production runs. Lead times vary by complexity and volume, but most orders are produced within 2–4 weeks. Rush production may also be available depending on material supply and scheduling.
Do you handle sourcing of raw lumber, or do we supply materials?
We can do both. We have strong relationships with Southern Yellow Pine and hardwood suppliers across the U.S. If you prefer to supply your own lumber, we can run toll manufacturing using your material. Our goal is to make production as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
Can you ship to multiple distribution centers?
Absolutely. Our location is rail-served and truck-ready, allowing us to ship anywhere in the United States, including distribution hubs, ports, or direct-to-customer facilities. We coordinate logistics to meet your timelines and delivery requirements.
What quality control systems do you use?
Every order is inspected throughout production—rip, resaw, moulding, and finishing. Our team grades and verifies dimensions manually to ensure consistency. We follow strict U.S. manufacturing and grading standards.
